"By mid morning, when this shot was taken, the temperature had already reached 35 degrees C and standing out in the direct sunlight the conditions were very uncomfortable. Here, numerous dead trees set in a dry clay pan surrounded on all sides by huge dunes provided endless compositional opportunities. The trees themselves provided some welcome shade in between photographic sorties."
