"It can be difficult at popular photographic locations to tear ones self away from the more well known compositions that have proved to be successful for other photographers. At this location, the usual shot includes a shore lined with Gondolas, so for something a bit different I used some mooring posts as foreground interest. Over the few days I attempted this shot, there was only this one occasion when there were no boats moored to these posts, as most of the time they were being used by either barges or water taxis."
