"Out for a walk along the River Alde, this scene had been quite different when I'd walked past this spot only an hour earlier. It was overcast and there was a stiff breeze creating conditions that were not even worthy of a single photograph, so I carried on along the river bank without even stopping. On returning to this same spot an hour later, the wind had completely dropped, the cloud had cleared, and the low evening light was now illuminating this stunning scene."

This photograph was awarded third place in the Wanderlust Travel Photograph of the Year competition 'Landscape' category. It was awarded a place in the awards book (available from Wanderlust Publications Ltd) and it appeared as an exhibition print at the 'Destinations' photographic exhibition at London's Earls Court. Matterhorn Sunset was a previous commended entry in the same competition.
